Mawsley Coffee Club

Mawsley Coffee Club began in January 2005 when a group of seven newcomers to the village arranged to meet regularly for coffee and support.  Since then the group has developed into a friendly community group of fun loving ‘recycled teenagers’, of retired folk or those who are approaching retirement.

Each month, one or two outings or events are arranged which include informal coffee mornings in the bar at The Centre, sometimes with a speaker or our own home-grown entertainment.

Group outings are organised to local shopping and garden centres, theatres, countryside walks etc., often using the minibus provided by Shire Community Services.  Outings further afield have included coach trips to the BBC studios and Houses of Parliament in London and our annual visit to the seaside.  We enjoy good food and usually manage to arrange refreshments, whether it’s breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea.  We’ve feasted on them all!

A warm welcome at our meetings is assured.  Details of current outings and events can be obtained by phoning Molly Shortt on 790 781 or Jean and David Wilson on 799 490.
